These release notes describe version information for FactoryTalk Linx RMCT, version 9.01.01 (released 11/2022).
Requirements
This release has the following requirements.
FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version 9.01.01 works within the system
requirements of all Rockwell Automation® software products.
For the latest compatibility and driver support information, refer to the Product Compatibility and
Download Center.
Hardware requirements
FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool recommends the following hardware for
applications with typical data acquisition needs:
- Intel® Core™ i5 Standard Power processor
- Total processor cores is recommended to be no less than 4 for virtual machines
- 4 GB of memory
Lower level x86 based CPUs will also work in standalone configurations with reduced data acquisition
needs.
For small applications, the following configuration was also evaluated:
- 4 GB of memory
- 1500 data points
It is recommended to run performance validation test on the planned computer hardware to ensure the
desired capacity and performance can be achieved.
Software requirements
FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool is tested on operating systems installed from
original Microsoft® media only. It runs on the 64-bit versions of the following Windows® operating
systems:
- Windows 10 (v2004, v20H2, v21H1, and v21H2)
FactoryTalk Linx adopts .NET 4.8 which is only supported in Windows 10 v1803 and later.
- Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC)
- Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC)
- Windows 11
- Windows Server® 2012
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2022

Note:
- FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version
9.01.01 requires FactoryTalk Linx 6.21.00 or higher.
- FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version
9.01.01 supports only 1756-RM2 modules with firmware version
20.010 or higher.

FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version 9.01.01 has no new or
enhanced features.
Corrected Anomalies in This Release
This release corrects the following anomalies.
- The Redundancy Module Configuration Tool cannot be opened via a 1756 redundancy module
(1756-RM2) under a USB driver in the Network Browser. First identified in Redundancy Module
Configuration Tool version 9.01.00. [Jira 1588126]
To avoid this problem, use the module under an Ethernet driver.
- FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool cannot be installed on Windows 10 IoT
Enterprise 2016 LTSB v1607. First identified in FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module
Configuration Tool version 9.01.00. [Jira 1788544]
Known Anomalies from Previous Releases
These anomalies are from previous releases but are still known in this release.
- The Chassis ID letter is not present in the file name prompt when using Export Selection on the
Event Log tab. User may manually add chassis ID to the file name. [Lgx00107686]
- RMCT export all logs option sometimes does not export anything. User needs to export the logs
again. [Lgx00230260]
- Network disconnection is not detected when exporting diagnostics. The tool stops responding. To
get the correct diagnostic log, user needs to run the export again when the connection is restored.

- After entering an invalid path for diagnostic log export, user is asked if they want to re-select the
location. If the user selected Cancel, the "Diagnostic data export is completed" message box is
displayed, but no export is performed. [Lgx00177682]
Functional Changes
This release has the following functional changes from the previous release.
FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version 9.01.01 has no changes in
functionality since the last release.

This release has the following application notes.
The following are the application notes for FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool
version 9.01.01.
- FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool can be installed as an optional part of
the FactoryTalk Linx installation. It must be installed to see the option to launch the tool from the
FactoryTalk Linx Network Browser.
- FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool is not accessible from the FactoryTalk
Linx topology view in the FactoryTalk Administration Console.
- FactoryTalk Linx Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version 9.01.00 supports only
1756-RM2 module with firmware version 20.010 or higher. To configure 1757-SRM, 1756-RM, or
1756-RM2 with firmware lower than 20.010, use Redundancy Module Configuration Tool version
8.6.3 or earlier together with RSLinx Classic.
