Corrected Anomalies in This Release

This release corrects the following anomalies.

Residual value detected from 171x-IJ after frequency input has stopped

Known Anomaly first identified as of Firmware Revision 2.011

Anomaly Corrected as of Firmware Revision 3.011

Catalog Numbers: 1719-AENTR, 1718-AENTR

This firmware revision resolves the anomaly where a residual value is detected from the 1719-IJ and 1718-IJ modules after frequency input has stopped. This anomaly occurred when one or more bits in the “Ch01.Frequency” tag of the 171x-IJ module are set to “1”.

This release has the following known anomalies.

Some Compatible Module versions for Electronic Keying configuration causes adapter fault

Known Anomaly first identified as of Firmware Revision 3.011

Catalog Numbers: 1719-AENTR, 1718-AENTR

When you configure Electronic Keying, if “Compatible Module” and major version 2 are selected, any minor version above 11 causes the adapter to reject the connection request with Fault Code 16#0116 (Electronic Keying Mismatch).

Application Notes

This release has the following application notes.

Upgrade 171x-AENTR to firmware revision 3.011 and later

There are two steps to upgrade a 171x-AENTR adapter to the latest firmware revision.

  1. Upgrade from firmware revision 2.014.23 to 3.000.56
  2. Upgrade from firmware revision 3.000.56 to 3.011.635 and later
IMPORTANT
  • You cannot upgrade directly from firmware revision 2.014.23 to 3.011.635 and later.
  • Once you upgrade from firmware revision 2.014.23 to 3.000.56, you cannot revert to firmware revision 2.014.23. This firmware update step is irreversible.

ControlFLASH™ Firmware Kit version 12.01 and later is required to perform the firmware update and is included in the “ControlFLASH.msi” in the download package.

ControlFLASH is also installed when you install Studio 5000 Logix Designer® application version 28.00 or later. For more information, see the ControlFLASH User Manual, publication 1756-UM105.

See the following example on how to upgrade a 1718-AENTR adapter from firmware revision 2.014.23 to 3.011.635.

  1. Upgrade from firmware revision 2.014.23 to 3.000.56
