Not Compatible: - Some functionality will not operate correctly. The module should not be used in a system with this release.
It is recommended that the firmware in 1715-IF16 modules is updated to 3.001 using ControlFLASH. The 1715-AENTR Normal Mode and Recovery Mode firmware must be updated to the latest versions before ControlFLASH can be used to update I/O modules. For details refer to 1715-UM001 Installation Instructions, System Software.
This release includes the following system features.

The input channel measurement verification is done with two different chips – Primary Input Processor (PIP) and HART Input Processor (HIP). An anomaly may occur that can cause a communication error between the input channel HIP and PIP. This will result in an input channel fault.

When 1715 modules are configured for SIL2 and the IP address is changed on either the 1715 -AENTR or the upstream bridge Ethernet module after initial configuration, a 16#0118 error occurs. This is because the IP address of the 1715 -AENTR and the bridge Ethernet module are stored in the configuration of every 1715 module; it needs to be updated to reflect the new IP address when changed.
Module info A and Module info B tabs of all 1715 Modules are Populated from the Same Slot (2170994)

The Module Info A and Module Info B tabs in the 1715 module properties were being populated from the same module.
For the 1715-AENTR, the primary module in the control of the rack populates both tabs.
For the I/O modules, the module in the first slot populates both tabs.
These anomalies are from previous releases but are still known in this release.
Internet Explorer Browser
Known Anomaly First Identified as of:
● 1715-AENTR Firmware Revision 2.002
● 1715-IB16D, 1715-OB8DE, 1715-IF16, 1715-OF8I, all revisions
Only Internet Explorer browser is supported.
SIL 2 Safety Counters
Known Anomaly First Identified as of:
● 1715-AENTR Firmware Revision 2.001
● 1715-IB16D, 1715-OB8DE, 1715-IF16, 1715-OF8I, all revisions
Only the ‘Good SIL 2 Connects’ and ‘Rejected SIL 2 Connects’ counters are currently implemented for input and output modules under the SIL 2 Safety Diagnostics dialog box. All other counters are specific to output modules only and remain at ‘0.’
Important: Corresponding counters for input modules are fully implemented by input module Add-On Instructions.
