Network Device Library – Reference Manual Library Update Procedure

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

The reference manual DEVICE-RM400 has been updated to capture potential issues when updating to v12.03 or greater. A used UDT name has changed in v12.02+ from raC_UDT_ItfAD_Framework_Sts udt to raC_UDT_ItfAD_Stratix_Sts. This name changes will result in errors when performing library updates. The solution is to manually update each existing "Ref_Ctrl_Sts" tag's data type to raC_UDT_ItfAD_Stratix_Sts.

Network Device Library – Reference Manual Stratix 5800 Firmware Compatibility

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

The reference manual DEVICE-RM400 displayed incorrect firmware compatibility for the Stratix 5800.  This has been corrected for Stratix 5800 rev 17.2(7)E1a or later.

Network Device Library – Reference Manual Upgrade Procedure

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

The reference manual DEVICE-RM400 has been updated to include considerations for UDT name changes that occurred in v12.02 including raC_UDT_ItfAD_Framework_Sts udt to raC_UDT_ItfAD_Stratix_Sts which may have resulted in errors when upgrading from previous AOI versions. An extra step has been added in the manual to address this issue.

Network Device Library – raC_Dvc_StratixAllImport Rung Ref_Module Missing

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

When using the import rung method to add the raC_Dvc_StratixAll AOI into a project, the Ref_Module would be incorrectly set to ‘0’. The import rung 5X file has been updated to resolve this problem with release v12.03.00.

Network Device Library – raC_Dvc_StratixAll and raC_Opr_DLR Default Message Path

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

Network Device Library instructions for Stratix and DLR may be imported with incorrect message paths.  The message path should be set to 1,0 by default. This has been resolved with release version 12.03.00.

Network Device Library – raC_Opr_NetDLR3 Minor Anomalies

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

A number of minor anomalies related to the raC_Opr_NetDLR3 instruction have been resolved in library release v12.03.00 including:

Network Device Library – raC_Opr_NetDLR – “?” Icon showing for some devices

Corrected Anomaly with Software Version v12.03.00
Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

The DLR HMI faceplates may have shown a “?” icon for some unknown devices including the 1788-EN2FFR and 1788-EN2PAR devices. This has now be updated to show a generic ethernet device icon.

Network Device Library – raC_Dvc_StratixALL – .Sts_ER Output Becomes Latched

Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.02

Some users may observe an anomaly in the AOI that occurs when the switch experiences total loss of connectivity (for example, when the switch can no longer communicate with the primary controller). The .Sts_ER parameter is triggered and remains true for an indefinite amount of time, even after the lost connection is restored. The AOI will then display incorrect diagnostics info until the .Sts_ER is cleared manually by resetting the errored Ref_GetSingleMessage MSG instruction within the AOI logic.  See technote https://rockwellautomation.custhelp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1141904 for more information.

    Known Anomalies from Previous Releases

These anomalies are from previous releases but are still known in this release.

NetDLR Objects Incompatible with CompactLogix 5480 Dual Ethernet Ports

Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version 1.04.00

    Affected Instructions: raC_Opr_NetDLR1, raC_Opr_NetDLR1_Lite, raC_Opr_NetDLR3

CompactLogix® 5480 controller uses DLR instance #2 while DLR instance #1 is disabled.  The Device Level Ring (DLR) device objects are not compatible with the CompactLogix® 5480 Controller.

Network Device Library – DLR AOI not supported in CompactLogix 5480 Controller

Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version 1.01.00

CompactLogix 5480 uses DLR Ring Instance 2. The DLR Add-On Instruction scans only DLR Ring Instance 1 which is used by all other devices. As a workaround, use a different device as a DLR supervisor if possible.  Refer to the technote AID 1137345.

Network Device Library – raC_Dvc_Stratix AOI stops execution when 19 VLANs used

Known Anomaly First Identified as of Software Version v12.01

raC_Dvc_Stratix AOI ver 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 will stop execution on Step 106 (rung 64 for AOI v12.1 or rung 65 for AOI v12.2 and 12.3). The anomaly is exposed only If Stratix switch has exactly 19 VLANs defined with numbers below 1002. Workaround: define an additional unused VLAN with the number below 1002.

    Environment:

    Functional Changes

This release has the following functional changes from the previous release.

Network Device Library v12.02 Updated Documentation

Functional Change First Identified as of Software Version 12.02

A new reference manual DEVICE-RM400A-EN-P “Network Device Library” has been created to replace and combine the previous documents “RM- raC_Opr_NetDLR1.pdf”, “RM- raC_Opr_NetDLR3.pdf”, “RM- raC_Opr_StratixSwitch.pdf”, “QuickStart - Device Level Ring Objects.pdf”, and “QuickStart - Stratix Switch Device Objects.pdf”

Network Device Library v12.02 – Combined Studio 5000 View Designer VPD Files

Functional Change First Identified as of Software Version 12.02

Studio 5000 View Designer files have been consolidated into two VPD project files.  One contains all DLR objects and the other contains all stratix objects.
